Student Success Statement

"I hate poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it."

Ben Carson

I agree with this quote because it's true. If you are determined to change something you will be able to change it with no doubt. If you set your mind to do something, then you will accomplish it. For example, Ben Carson, he lived in poverty and he was a really bad student growing up and he was able to change that and now he is a renowned doctor. I believe if you want to change something in your life you have to set your mind to it and once you do that you will accomplish what you want to change. Ben probably didn't have no hope in his life changing but he set his mind to it and he was determined and his life did change for the better.

Student Success Statement Thomas S. Monson

Student Success Statement

"You can't be right by doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right."

Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: I agree with this quote because it is completely true. When you do wrong you can't be right at all because you obviously did something wrong. When do something right, you can't be wrong because you did something good not bad. For example, when you do your homework it is not wrong because you did what you were suppose to do, so you did right. When you don't do your homework, there is nothing right about that, you did wrong. So I agree with this quote.

Student Success Statement Dean Smith

Student Success Statement

"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."

Dean Smith

What this quote is trying to say is that Dean Smith didn't want to be the most winningnest coach, but his right actions made him one. Dean Smith always did what was right, he wanted to set a good example to his players and that caused him to be a legend. If you decide to do the right thing, you might end up being like Dean Smith, a legend. For example, if you make the right decisions, like following the rules you might go a long way. Choosing the right always takes you somewhere far.

I think that i would like to be one because it's a very interesting job. I feel like this would help a lot of people due to the fact that they're helping find evidence that will help the offender and that will make criminals for their actions. The salary is not that bad and you don't require that many educational requirements. So i feel like this career will be pretty easy to do. This career does interest me.

Student Success Statement Mario Cuomo

Student Success Statement

“Every time I’ve done something that doesn’t feel right, it’s ended up being not right.”

Mario Cuomo

What this quote means is that your conscious sometimes detects things faster than you do. For example when you say that something doesn’t feel right that shows that your inner self knows more than you do. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not right. Many people should follow their inner self because many times it is right and it’s trying to prevent you from doing the wrong thing.

I don't think I would like to be an electrocardiograph technician because it doesn't interest me as much. I would much rather be something else that actually does interest me and that i'll actually put an effort to study that career. I think I would most likely choose a career being a pediatrician because i want to be a children;s doctor. I would like to help out the children. So I honestly don't think i would like to be a EKG technician.

Winter Break

Winter Break

Over the winter break i really didn't do much. The most important thing i did during the break was coming out in my friend's 16. The day before the 16 we all slept over at a hotel and it was so much fun because we did a lot of fun things with everyone. The day of the 16 it was so hectic because we all had to wake up early to get ready and to take picture. We went to the Americana Mall with the party bus, that was so much fun. Once we got to the banquet hall all we did was dance and that was so much fun That day was great. Also i went to the movies with my friends because we wanted to celebrate my best friend's birthday. That day we didn't go home till 1am but it was so much fun. Most of the break i would spend it with my best friend, either at my house or her house or just going out somewhere. I watched so many movies during the break but one of my favorites was "Like Water for Chocolate." It was such a great movie and now i have decided to read the book. Everyday i remember going to sleep till like 4am and wouldn't wake up till really late. I also had a movie night where a couple of friends went to my house and watched movies while eating pizza and a lot of candy. For Christmas and New Years we spent it at my cousins house with the whole family and we ate a lot of tamales and posole. I had lots of fun with my family in the holidays. Winter break was such a good break off, it gave me a lot of time to rest.
