What this quote is trying to say is that it is our job to do what's right and wrong, it is our job to make the good things popular by making the right decision. If we make something popular then it means that it's obviously something good and sound. If it's something unpopular then it is bad. Like i said, it is our job to influence the good because that way it shows that we have been making the right decisions and that we have been choosing the right.
