Thanksgiving is a national holiday that is usually celebrated in both the United States and Canada and it's a day where you give thanks for the blessing of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday of November. This is usually a day where the family comes together and say what they are thankful for. This is a really common tradition.

Act of Kindness

Act of Kindness

Ian showed a great act of kindness at a baseball game. In a game of baseball, Ian, a 12 year old boy was sitting down when he saw a ball coming towards him. It was Ian and another little boy who were trying to get the baseball but Ian was the one that was able to get the ball. He was really happy but the other boy was really sad. Ian saw that the other boy was really sad so he decided to give the baseball to the little boy. After the other little boy was really happy. What Ian didn't know was that a lot of people we seeing him. His act of kindness was shown all over tv. So they decided to give Ian something as well. They gave him a bat with an autograph of his favorite player, some tickets, and he was going to give the first pitch in another game. 

                                

I believe this was a great of kindness because was willing to give up the baseball to make someone else happy. When he did that, something great happened to him too, he got even bigger kindness because he got an autographed bat. If you do good things then good things will happen to you like Ian said.

I think this quote by Joseph is true because when you're kind you're doing the right thing. Being kind is not a lot of work, it's just suppose to come out naturally, so when you're kind you're doing something great to yourself and the other person. Being kind is a good thing because it will make you feel better since you are doing good things to other. I feel like if you're kind, everybody else will be kind to you as well. So it will eventually benefit you in some way.

I believe this quote is true because if you do right it can change your life completely to something good but if you do the wrong, your future will be bad. It doesn't matter if you did something bad that is small it's still bad and it will still change your life. So it's better to do right and change your life to be positive because it will benefit your future a lot. So you should always do right because you'll feel better about yourself and it will do you a good. 

Dental Lab Technician

Dental Lab Technician 

Duties and Responsibilities: Dental lab is the science and art of manufacturing and replacing natural teeth. There are two types of dentistry that call for a lab tech which are restorative and orthodontic. They call this lab because each patients' natural teeth are different. They try to fix anything that is wrong with the persons's natural teeth. 

Salary: $37,690

Education: High School Diploma and some type of dental training. 

                                         

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I don't think i would like to be a dental lab technician because that's not my nature, that's not what i'm interested in. I'm more interested in being a doctor, that's what i would like my career to be. This sounds like a really good career to pursue but i don't think this is for me. This is better for someone who is interested in a dental career. 

Veterans Day

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is on November 11 and Veterans Day officially started on November 11, 1918. Veterans Day is an official United States holiday which honors the people who have served in the armed forces whom are called veterans. Veterans Day also marks the end of World War I because it ended in the 11th hour, the 11th day, and the 11th month of 1918. Veterans Day is different than Memorial Day though, Veterans Day celebrates and honers all the U.S military veterans who served while Memorial Day celebrates all the people who have died serving. Originally Veterans Day was just to celebrate those who died in World War I but In World War II Raymond Weeks from Alabama had the idea to expand Veterans day to honor all the veterans not just the ones who died in World War I. Veterans Day was first known as "Armistice" but congress changed it and replaced it with Veterans and it has been known like that ever since. 

                             

                                                    

Reflection: What i like about Veterans Day is that it honors all the people who have served in our country. It honors and celebrates all those who have fought for our freedom. I like that this is a holiday because it's really important to recognize those who have helped our country. Making it a holiday shows how important it is. All those veterans have died for us, they have made so many sacrifices for us.
